U.S. Democratic Party: Harry Reid (Senator)
With his gentle demeanor and social justice warrior mindset, the Democratic Party had an effective voice in the Senate with Harry Reid. For five terms, Reid represented the state of Nevada and maintained consolidation among Democrats in the Senate as the Majority/Minority Whip. Early in his career, Reid contributed to transforming Las Vegas into a global destination and economic powerhouse, a sure bet to propel him up the national political ladder. Reid’s political ground game savvy allowed him to help Obama turn progressive’s policy into reality. like the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Affordable Care Act. Recently, Reid had a stroke and was involved in a car accident that left him blind in one eye, though he persevered until his term ends on January 3, 2017. Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto was elected to replace Senator Reid in Nevada, after a very close a critical race. Now that the Democratic Party is without House, Senate, or Executive control, every asset and strength will be needed to maintain policies they set. People were wild about Harry, it would have been good to have him at the new party.
