After 27 years of fighting cancer in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Christi Shaw has now cleared her schedule to help her sister’s battle at home. Sherry, Shaw’s sister and mother of two, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, also known as bone marrow cancer. Sherry has entered into a specialized clinical study that requires the patient to have a full-time care taker. Shaw didn’t think twice about prioritizing her sister’s health over her career. Considered one of the most powerful women in her field, Shaw led the Swiss based Pharma-Giant Novartis to become the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Novartis researches and develops drugs to treat Cancer, Heart Failure, Asthma, Alzheimers, and a variety of other ailments for millions of people world-wide. Unfortunately, Shaw’s situation is one that many people face. In this situation, one can only pray that their loved ones will recover and that their employer will understand.
